WEEK ONE FEATURE

“The most rewarding thing is being on Broadway. I went into Cabaret as a replacement and was really challenged beyond anything I could have imagined.” -Brooke Shields

After absorbing tons and tons of information about Rose Chan and her showgirl life I realized that being a showgirl takes the similar amount of hard work as any other job. There are risks, losses, gains, conflict and pain. So many challenges that you had to decide if you were going to take it or not.

Rose Chan enjoyed what she did and she deserves her fame and glory. I honestly believe that if she had a second chance to do it again she would go for it in a heartbeat. I don’t really blame her—like they say, don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it and after never ending research about Rose Chan as a showgirl, it made me wonder…could I knack it if I were given the chance to live a month's life as a showgirl? Hey, maybe this would be an interesting experiment and an in depth thing I’d have to do one day to comprehend that cabaret girls aren’t just sleazy, cheap and downgrading. It is simply another career selection.

The Greatest Show of the Year!

All too many people turned out for the audition. Experienced actors, first timers...or those who just wanted to meet the director. They were inspired and gung-ho, dynamic individuals who wanted the chance to let the world hear them.

I think during ROSE's time, their audition could have been very much like that too...the energy, the enthusiasm or just the human need, to be off the streets would have been the very passion that drove them to want to outdo each other.

What fuels their passion each night, every night as they perform the same routine? How do they cope with living under the same roof alongside other performers who are bitchy and catty, ready to step on you to get to the top?

What kind of lives do they live? Come and find out!

BODY BEAUTIFUL

BEAUTY IS SKIN DEEP

A 45-year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.
While on the operating table, she had a near death experience.
Seeing God, she asked, "Is my time up?"
God said: "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair color and brighten her teeth! Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.

After her last operation, she was released from thehospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.

Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 43 years? Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the ambulance?"

God replied: "I didn't recognize you."
